UNITY OF THE CHURCH

1. Core Meaning

Unity of the Church is the spiritual and visible oneness of all believers in Jesus Christ, created by the Holy Spirit and grounded in the gospel.

It is not uniformity, institutional sameness, or human achievement—it is God’s work, rooted in the shared life believers have in Christ.

It includes:

• One body under one Lord

• Shared faith, baptism, and Spirit

• Unity in truth, love, and mission

• Diversity of gifts, cultures, and callings

• Peace, reconciliation, and mutual submission

• A visible witness to the world

Unity is a gift to receive, a calling to pursue, and a testimony to the watching world.
