THE CROSS

Definition:

The Christian Meaning of “The Cross”

The Cross is the central symbol of Christianity — the place where Jesus Christ died as the atoning sacrifice for sin, revealing God’s perfect love and securing victory over evil, sin, and death.

It is both a historical event and a spiritual reality with ongoing power in the life of believers.

At the Cross:

  • God’s justice and mercy meet

  • Sin is judged and forgiven

  • Satan is defeated

  • Humanity is reconciled to God

  • Love is fully revealed

Reflection

The Cross is not merely something to admire — it is something to stand under, live from, and carry daily.
