SOUL

Definition:

The Christian Meaning of “Soul”

In Christian theology, the soul is the immortal, immaterial essence of a human being — the part that relates directly to God, experiences moral responsibility, and carries identity beyond physical death. It is the seat of:

  • Consciousness

  • Personality

  • Will

  • Emotions

  • Spiritual life

The soul is distinct from the body, yet intimately connected to it.

Its destiny is central to salvation, judgment, and eternal life.
