THE BIBLE AS INVITATION

The Bible is not a test you pass. 

It is an invitation you return to.

Some days it confronts. 

Some days it comforts. 

Some days it confuses.

And none of those mean you are doing it wrong.

Scripture is not a puzzle to solve, a performance to perfect, or a ladder to climb.

It is a place to come back to. 

A voice to sit with. 

A story that keeps opening. 

A relationship that grows at the pace of trust.

Over time — often more quietly than we expect — Scripture does something deeper than answering questions:

It teaches you how to listen. 

It reshapes how you see God. 

It gently exposes false stories you’ve believed about yourself. 

It softens places you thought were permanently hardened. 

It steadies you when life shakes. 

It forms wisdom that shows up not just in belief, but in how you live, how you speak, how you treat people, and how you carry your own story.

You don’t need to master Scripture for Scripture to begin its work in you.

You don’t need perfect understanding, strong feelings, or constant clarity. 

You don’t need to feel “spiritual enough,” or “consistent enough,” or “ready.”

You need openness. 

Honesty. 

Return.

God has been meeting people in these pages for thousands of years — not because they understood everything, but because they stayed open long enough to be changed.

The Bible has held the questions of prophets, the doubts of disciples, the grief of exiles, the wonder of poets, the anger of the oppressed, and the prayers of ordinary people who were simply trying to find their way.

You stand in that same long line.

So read slowly. 

Let the words breathe. 

Let yourself breathe. 

Ask real questions — the ones that actually matter to you. 

Rest when you need to. 

Pause when something stirs. 

Come back when you wander. 

Come back when you’re tired. 

Come back when you’re curious. 

Come back when you’re not sure what you believe.

The Bible is not going anywhere.

And God is far more patient with your learning than you are with yourself.

You are not behind. 

You are not failing. 

You are not disqualified. 

You are not expected to know everything.

You are invited.

Again and again and again.

Just stay open.
